The first day of Bengali New Year 1429 was celebrated differently with 120 school students by Dinebd, an organization working to improve the restaurant business and food supply chain in Bangladesh. During this time, they maintain hygiene among the students and parents and create awareness and warn about the issues of serving healthy food, food safety and hygiene etc.
On this day, Mohammadpur Government Primary School organized a painting competition with school students. Around 120 contestants from various primary schools participated in the competition with their aesthetic drawings. The competition was inaugurated at 10:30 am. Additional Director General of Narcotics Control Directorate Azizul Islam was present as the chief guest in the event conducted by Shireena Bithi, associate professor of the political science department of Kushtia Islamic University.
World-famous chef Tony Khan inaugurated the competition. Mohammadpur Thana Education Officer Jasmine Akhtar Banu, Assistant Thana Education Officer Mahbooba Begum, Faisal Mahmud of Himicas Angels for Humanity and other volunteers and teachers of various schools were also present.
At the end of the drawing competition, he enlightened the students and their parents about health hygiene, food nutrition, healthy food recipes etc. Besides, the world-famous chef Tony Khan showed the students how to prepare healthy food.
In the speech of the chief guest, Additional Director General of Narcotics Control Directorate Azizul Islam said, “No one could pass the school from which I passed for ten years after I left. I came from such a village. You live in Dhaka. There are many opportunities ahead of you. You have to grow up, and be human-like humans. My prayers for everyone.”
