Tea originated in China and was once the most popular beverage there. However, the history of western people’s fondness for tea begins with Catherine of Braganza, a Portuguese queen who married King Charles II and brought tea as a beverage to England. As part of her dowry, several cartons of leaf tea were given to her, and she began to drink tea on a daily basis. Surprisingly, the royal courts, including the aristocrats, adopted the habit of drinking tea as soon as possible. Tea can be consumed as a meal and thus a drink. The Duchess of Bedford, Anna Russell, is credited for popularizing afternoon tea in the late 1840s as a way to alleviate her hunger. She drank tea in the periods between her two daily meals and shared it with her companions.

It might have a fruity or floral scent. Herbs tea is a mixture of herbs, spices, fruits, and other plants. Oolong tea, on the other hand, has a wide range of flavours. Finally, unlike Kombucha, pu’erh tea is fermented after the tea has already been made. Furthermore, new types of tea, such as matcha tea, lemon tea, hibiscus tea, rose tea, daisy tea, chamomile tea, jasmine tea, peppermint tea, lavender tea, turmeric tea, ginger tea, honeybush tea, olive leaves tea, avocado leaf tea, bamboo tea, pumpkin spice tea etc are gaining popularity.

The health benefits of tea are undeniable. It may help to strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation, prevent cancer, heart disease, and obesity, as well as improve sleep, stress relief, and blood circulation. Distinct types of tea have different health benefits.
