Pets are an integral part of the family and their well-being relies on the pet owners or their human parents. Cats are not only popular as pets but also as our cute furry friends who like to accompany us and give us their warmth and love all the time. Ensure a good diet plan for the cat-human parents leaves no stone untouched.

As carnivores, cats mainly eat animal or processed animal foods. Like humans, cats require protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. So while choosing cat food cat parents need to keep in mind that their processed food contains all the necessary ingredients to supply their little pets right amount of energy and nutrition. Cats are very particular about cleanliness, so it’s very important to give them clean food in clean bowls. Sometimes cats avoid drinking water which can result in serious health issues. They prefer drinking from running water, so cat fountains are great options to make them drink the right amount of water to avoid health risks.

There are different types of cat food available in the market which makes feeding our furry friends easier. These readymade food items contain necessary food value and are also quite tasty. These foods are mainly made of meat, milk, grain, poultry and fish items.

Cats need nutritious food too!

When it comes to choosing readymade cat food items pet owners tend to choose dry ones mostly. Dry cat foods are mostly made in small shapes so that cats can easily break them by biting. Dry cat foods come in different flavours also, so pet owners can change the flavours to make them tastier for the cats. But any new cat food item needs to be introduced to the cats in small quantities because a change in food items can cause vomiting or upset stomach. So introducing new food items needs to be done in moderation.

Canned food is widely popular among cat parents from all over the world. It’s also considered to be the most expensive form of cat food due to its right amount of moisture and nutrients. Canned foods are mainly made from different types of fish like Tuna, chicken kidneys and meats. Different brands also add artificial flavours to it. After opening the can it needs to be preserved in the refrigerator.

Moist food or popularly known as wet food among the cat parents is another form of cat food that is made of fish or meat byproducts. Its texture is soft and it’s extremely beneficial for cats because it prevents constipation among cats. The pricing of such products is less than canned food. Along with dry food, pet parents can include moist food as part of the daily diet of the cats to keep their fur babies healthy.

Homemade recipes are also highly nutritious and cost-effective at the same time. Many items can be made by using meat, chicken, and fish with vegetables like pumpkins. Boiled eggs are also a favourite item for cats. Many cats have lactose intolerance. So be slightly careful before feeding your cat milk or milk-made items.

Like humans, a cat also likes to get treats on special occasions. There is plenty of cat treats available in the market. They come in small pouches and small amounts of treats will keep your furry friends happy and content.

Cats are sensitive to their food and environmental change. People need to observe if there are any changes in the cats eating patterns due to changes in food or accommodation. Generally, they adapt to new changes within a few days, In case they show any abnormal eating or behavioural signs for a long time due to food or accommodation change please consult a vet.
