‘Football is not just a game, it’s an emotion’- the saying becomes true in every world cup. People get excited whenever they hear the name ‘Football’! Football has been creating history in every world cup. Last year, the FIFA World cup was nothing but breathtaking.

The 2022 FIFA world cup was held in Qatar from 20th November to 18th December. So far, this tournament was the most thrilling in the history of football. There have been surprises and stellar performances from many underdog nations like Africa and Asia. There have been 32 teams participating in the game. It was the first time the World Cup was held in the Arab and Muslim world and the second time in Asia after the 2002 World Cup. Everything was so fascinating that people will always remember this World Cup.

The crowd witnessed the magic of football

The game was not only thrilling because of unexpected results, but also for its cost. It was the most expensive world cup to hold till today. The estimated cost of this world cup is around 220 Billion. Everything was assembled so accurately that the stadiums were describing zero waste. The upper tiers of the stadium were disassembled because it was donated to countries with less developed sports infrastructure. The stadiums were gorgeously decorated and they made the audience glad around the world.

The fever starts every year with lots of expectations. If we talk about the excitement of the supporters it won’t do justice to words. From every corner to the other, people hoist their favourite team’s flag. FIFA fever starts at the beginning of the month. Brazil and Argentina have a huge number of supporters, which can’t be identified in numbers. There’s a saying that- ‘Football means Brazil and Argentina.’

The streets get decorated

Be it Argentina, Brazil, England, Portugal, Germany or any other country, the supporters never get tired of cheering for their team. The roads, the buildings- all get decorated with significant colors. It becomes a festival for the supporters! The festive season of Football creates magic in every house and road. The moment of losing or winning is not easily accepted by the supporters. Some cry with joy, and some cry with sorrow. But the FIFA fever never gets intimidated by this.

In Bangladesh, the supporters give tribute to their favorite teams by hoisting flags, painting on the walls of the road, wearing their favorite jerseys and watching the matches on big screens. It creates magic. The madness makes the matches more interesting. When people sit together and watch the match on big fields, the whistles, the cheers, the screams say out loud ‘Football is our happy game’.

The Qatar world cup was organized in a befitting manner so that people will not only remember it but also talk about it till football’s reign. The world cup held in Qatar faced much criticism as well but it did not affect the craze of the supporters.

The Argentina team took the honour to take the trophy with them this time. The supporters of Argentina could not hold back their tears as they won the title of a winner after so many years. Because of this, every football supporter was happy to see them taking the trophy.
