A vegetarian dish called palak paneer is consisting of paneer and puree spinach which is an old favourite dish of every vegan. Basically, paneer is added to the thick paste of pureed spinach. Palak paneer is mostly famous in Northern India and Pakistan and has gradually been adopted in Bangladesh as well. Paneer is a perfect replacement for meat as well. 

Spinach is consumed in every region of different countries in the cooler months. People love the leafy green look of it. To make palak paneer one needs some basic ingredients. Let’s look into the recipe now!

Recipe: 

  • 3 and ½ bunches of spinach (Puree of spinach)
  • 3 to 4 tbsp. oil
  • 1 and ¼ tsp. cumin
  • 2 medium-sized onions
  • 3 to 4 green chillies
  • 1 tsp. of fresh ginger and garlic
  • Red chilli powder (to taste)
  • 1 tsp. coriander powder
  • 275 grams. paneer (cut in small cubes and fried)
  • 2 tomatoes (chopped)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 tsp. garam masala powder
  • 1 tbsp. cream  

Method:

First, you need to fry the paneer slices and then sautee the onions for a few minutes and add cumin, green chilli, ginger, and garlic to it. Then add red chilli powder and coriander powder into add and keep stirring it. Next, we need to add chopped tomatoes and cook them on high flame for a few minutes. After that, we need to add the pureed spinach and cook for about 15 minutes. Add the fried paneer into the mixture with garam masala and cream. Cook for more than 10 minutes and the palak paneer is ready to serve.

Palak paneer can be served with roti, naan, Kalai roti, paratha, or rice. Palak Paneer contains 8g total carbs, 5g net carbs, 18g fat, 10g protein, and 240 calories (per serving).
