Karahi is a popular and traditional recipe known as a gosht karahi. It has various types, tastes, and cooking styles according to culture and tradition. In this recipe, multiple spices are used to add a unique flavour to it. Karahi has more variety available, such as green karahi, white karahi, Peshawari karahi, and smoky karahi, dum karahi, Lahori karahi and many more. 

The main ingredients used in it are tomatoes, yoghurt, and meat.

Chicken Karahi is on the Karahi

It is one of the most popular and favourite dishes among people of different ages. It is cooked at special events or occasions whether it be a wedding or any celebrating parties,eids, festivals. 

Ingredients:

  1. 500g- Chicken with bones
  2. One big sized- onion (chopped)
  3. 1 cup- Red tomatoes (chopped)
  4. 7-8 small whole green chillies
  5. ½ inch- Ginger piece freshly Julian cut
  6. 1 tablespoon- Coriander leaves
  7. 200g- Ghee
  8. 2 tablespoons- Chicken Karahi Masala Powder
  9. 1 cup- Yogurt
  10. 1 tablespoon- Ginger and Garlic paste

Steps to Make Chicken Karahi:

Take a pot, then heat the ghee. Add chopped onion and sauté it for 2 minutes on medium flame right. After that, add washed chicken pieces and fry them on low-medium flame till they start to change colour. Keep stirring the chicken by adding ginger garlic paste to it. Then, whisk the yoghurt and add karahi gosht masala to it. Stir to mix it well. Then add spiced yoghurt to the chicken. Again, stir it to combine well. Let it cook for 10 minutes on medium flame. Take the chicken out from the oil and add tomatoes along with 3-4 green chillies. Now add grated ginger, remaining green chillies, and coriander leaves. Mix them well and simmer them further for 10 minutes on low flame. Finally, Chicken karahi is ready to serve.

Serve it with naan, roti, paratha, tandoori roti, and rumali roti. To make it tastier serve it with salad and raita.
