Dino Park in Bangladesh

The First Dino Park of Bangladesh is in Cumilla

While in school, I bought a book by Dr Zafar Iqbal from a book fair. The story was about dinosaurs. I almost swallowed the description of T-rex. After watching Jurassic Park, I wanted to go to the realm of dinosaurs. That wish has been fulfilled in this visit to Cumilla.

The dinosaur park is built on 12 acres of land in Cumilla’s Lalmai hills. It is known chiefly as Dino Park. Mashfika Holdings Limited has created this park to entertain the people of Cumilla and surrounding districts. Four brothers and their father privately own the park. They visited Dinosaur Park in China and created this park in the same style. Five dinosaurs were imported from China, and modern technologies have been used here.

The park has a three-storey heritage-like building at the entrance. The ticket counter is here. As I was about to buy the tickets, I heard a roar. After entering the park, there is a vast wall. On the other side, there is a stage and a round wooden bench in front. While sitting on that bench, you can see the terrifying Tyrannosaurus rex right in the middle of the garden. He is looking with bloodshot eyes. Behind it, there is a beautiful artificial fountain.

Two paths are divided on either side of the stage. Going to the right, you will be greeted by a Parasaurolophus with a hat on its head and Triceratops with two horns on its nose. And on the left is a beautiful rainbow staircase. At the foot of the stairs stood Brachiosaurus, much like a giraffe with a long neck. Going down the stairs to the side of the road, you will meet Spinosaurus. Below each dinosaur, its history is written.

Every ten minutes, their roar could be heard. The biggest surprise is, that they don’t just stop roaring. They can blink their eyes, shake their heads, and if you notice, their stomachs fluctuate with breathing, just like a real animal.

To enjoy the beauty of Lalmai hill, you have to go up the rainbow stairs. Not only dinosaur sightings but there are also different types of rides for everyone who comes to visit, like, dragon coasters, roller coasters, octopuses, merry-go-rounds and many more.

Apart from this, any organization can arrange a picnic or workshop here. The height of this park is 45 feet above ground level. Above it is the Paris Wheel, also known as the ‘Eye of Lalmai’.

There is also a restaurant named Hill Cafe for food and recreation. Made on a bamboo platform, you can enjoy natural views while eating. About 135 people can sit together on the deck side of the restaurant. The quality of the food is also quite good.

With clean, tidy management and innovation, all in all, Dino Park can be a beautiful travel destination. Also, if you go there, don’t forget to taste the famous Rasmalai of Cumilla.

The real Matribhandar shop is in Manoharpur. Rasmalai is perfectly made by mixing Rasgolla and Malai. 10-12 kg of Malai is made by boiling 40 kilograms of milk. These little rasgollas filled with thick Malai flavour are enough to grab your heart!
